Guardianship Case Workers - San Antonio & Tyler

Friends for Life is currently interviewing for a new guardianship case worker position in our San Antonio office. The position involves conducting assessments, developing care plans, coordinating, and supervising care for adults who are incapacitated. Applicants must be able to clear a criminal background check and will be required to eventually pass a state license exam. There is some higher education required. Applicants must have dependable transportation. Some travel will be required including traveling to the home office (Waco) monthly. Previous guardianship experience is not required, but applicants must have experience in social work or a related area.
Guardianship staff are trained and certified under the requirements set by the Texas Guardianship Certification Board. New employee may obtain a provisional certification for up to two years before that individual would be required to pass the state guardianship licensing exams. As part of this requirement all staff and volunteers must pass a FBI criminal background check and must not have been convicted of a felony. In addition to these requirements, DADS requires their own criminal background be run on all individuals that work with guardianship clients.
