MUSIC

Volunteers of all ages are coming to Friends for Life to create music with the people attending our

Adult Day Care Center and to sing and dance.

READING

We have created a small library so that older adults and children can read to one another.  Our library has children's books so that children of all ages can read to older adults and large print books for the older adults to read to children.

ART

We were blessed to have a Master of Social Work Intern from Baylor University's School of Social Work develop an Intergenerational Therapuetic Art Program for us.  Now we have hundreds of art activities that promote health interaction between older adults and children.

GARDENING

Between our facility and the homes of our 'Independent Living' clients we have lots of opportunities for Intergenerational Therapuetic Garden Projects.

RELATIONSHIPS

The Meyer Family Intergenerational Center is about people.  It is about matching people in need with people who care.  It is helping people be all they can be and making sure they know they are special and that someone cares.  It is also aabout giving older adults and children opportunities to come together to learn from one another, to build relationships and to love one another.
